How to Develop the Boys’ Football.
Eighty administrators and leaders of boys' football clubs from every part of Japan assembled in Tokyo on the middle of August to discuss the theme, how to develop the boys’ football in this country. After the three days meeting, they submitted their suggestions to the Japan Football Association, in which they pointed out that the insufficiency of good coaches and football fields for young boys are the main obstacles of the development of football in Japan.
At their meeting, they ex-changed their experience and opinions each other, heard the explanations from the educational authorities and talked about the way to develop the boys' football. They had also expected to hear the lecture of Mr. Dettmar Cramer, who is now staying in Japan for the FIFA coaching school, but they could not meet him because of his hard schedule.Mr. Cramer sent a message for them.
The memorundum submitted from the meeting to the Association includes the following suggestions : −
1) To have the coaching courses at least once a year in every prefecture and give the qualifications as the general leaders.
2) To make coaching films for young boys by the Association.
3) To make It available the school grounds for football on holidays.
4) To settle the insurance system of injuries for young boys. (although the serious injuries are quite rare, the leaders are anxious about the traffic accident on the way to the club)
At the same time, the 3rd annual football tournament and training course for boys under 14 were held in Tokyo. Some 600 boys of 32 teams, who were represented from every district of Japan, had participated. They had five days training and lectures by the first class coaches and played football games every day. These are the basic parts of the Association's plan to make Japanese football the first class in the international level.
