 Soccer Fever in Primary Schools
 Sources of the Educational Ministry said recently that about 750,000 boys of primary schools throughout Japan are in a fever of soccer and the number is increasing remarkably. Now boys under twelve like to play soccer better than baseball which has been the most popular sport for past years.

 Three Nations' Tourney Cancelled 
 Owing to the refusal by the Soviet Union to send its club team to Japan, the three nations' football tournament which had been scheduled to be held in Tokyo late in March was cancelled. Japan Football Association had expected that the Soviet Union would accept the invitation on the verbal agreement of last summer with Russian officials. Now J.F.A. changed its plan to have friendly matches among Universidad of Mexico and some Japanese teams.

 Toyo took the third place in Asia
 Toyo Kogyo F.C. of Hiroshima, the champion of Japan Soccer League, took the third place in the Asian Champions Cup tournament held in Bangkok in January.  The winner was Israel's Maccabi Tel-Aviv which defeated South Koreas' Yang Zee Army club by 1-0 in the final. Japan's Toyo Kogyo was defeated by Yang Zee in the semi-final, but won over India's Mysore for the third place

 Schedule for 1969-1970
 The Japan Football Association announced its schedule for 1969-1970 season. It will invite two British and one German teams to Japan to play a series of goodwill matches with Japanese this year.
 Middlesex Wanderers, the British amateur selection, will play three games in May and West German “Monchen-Gladbach” kickers are also scheduled to play three matches in June. Another British team is combined Cambridge-Oxford squad, that will visit Japan in September when the British Fair will be held in Tokyo.
 J.F.A. also announced that it will send teams to the Asian Youth tournament to be held in Bangkok in April and the Merdeka tournament in Kuala Lumpur next August. It is expected that Japan will send its strongest team to the Merdeka tournament this year. For the last couple of years Japan had been unable to send its best teams and had made poor showing. Japan will also participate in the Asian preliminary competition for the World Cup whichi will be held in Seoul, Korea, in September or October.
 In domestic schedule, Japan Soccer League will open the fifth season on April 6 and end its first half at the end of June. The second half will begin from the first week of October, and end in the first week of December. The Emperor’s Cup competition will be held from Dec. 25 to Jan.1 of 1970.
 J.F.A. has another plan to develop the game in Japan. It want to have the Asian Coaching School, which the national coaches of Asian countries will attend, from July to September in Tokyo under the leadership of Mr. Dettmar Cramer, West German instructor who is to be sent to Asia from FIFA.
 The negotiation with Asian Football Confederation is now undertaking
