 The Olympic Team for Mexico
The Japan Olympic Committee decided that the football team for the Mexico tournament would be composed of 18 players, although the Football Association strongly requested 19 players.
The reason for the reduction is not a financial one, but the J. O. C. was pressed by public opinion that the delegation was too large. Japan will send 187 athletes in 17sports to Mexico.
Japanese players expect to enter the quarterfinal in Mexico. They will meet Nigeria, Brazil and Spain in group B matches. But the high altitude of Mexico City, 2240meters, would be the main obstacle for them. They are unable to find a high-altitude training camp ill their own country.

All Star Games of Japan Soccer League
